The Legend
In Japanese culture and history, the character 愛 holds profound significance, encapsulating the essence of love, affection, and compassion. As one of the fundamental emotions experienced by humanity, love has played a pivotal role in shaping Japanese society, influencing literature, art, philosophy, and interpersonal relationships.
Historically, Japan has been deeply influenced by various forms of love depicted in classical literature such as "The Tale of Genji" by Murasaki Shikibu and "The Pillow Book" by Sei Shōnagon. These works not only showcased romantic love but also explored familial bonds, friendship, and loyalty, emphasizing the multifaceted nature of affection.
In traditional Japanese poetry, such as haiku and tanka, expressions of love often intertwine with themes of nature, evoking a sense of harmony and beauty.
The AI 愛 Pendant
Forged entirely by hand, our AI pendant is a testament to love and kindness. Meticulously crafted from traditional Japanese folded steel, the pendant's design is inspired by the graceful curves of traditional calligraphy strokes, where the character 愛 comes to life in three-dimensional form. Its sleek silhouette exudes sophistication, while its subtle sheen hints at the enduring beauty of love, ever radiant and timeless.
Wearing the 愛 pendant is more than just adorning oneself with jewelry; it's a statement of connection—to the rich cultural heritage of Japan, to the profound human experience of love, and to the bonds that unite us all. Whether as a symbol of romantic devotion, familial love, or friendship, this pendant serves as a tangible reminder of the precious moments and connections that enrich our lives.
Embrace the spirit of 愛 and make a statement of elegance and meaning with our beautifully crafted pendant. Each time you wear it, let it serve as a beacon of love, guiding you through life's journey with grace, strength, and a heart full of affection.
Safety
As the smith does not mix chromium into the metal, your AI pendant should be kept away from water. We have applied a layer of lacquer to give the pendant a measure of water resistance, but it is always better to be safe than sorry! As this layer will eventually wear off over the course of normal wear, it is highly recommended to replace it with a jewelry sealant (or an alternative) in a month or so to protect the finishing of the pendant and maintain its water resistance.
Stainless Option
Due to popular demand, we now offer a stainless clad variant of the pendant! The metals used in the forging of this piece are of a lower carbon content with a limited chromium mix in order to provide greatly increased resistance to water based corrosion. Please note that this metal is not fully stainless, and thus should not be left exposed to water for extended periods of time.
