The HASHIRA 柱 Pendant
Crafted from folded steel, our HASHIRA pendant is a 2.25 x 0.25 x 0.125 inch metal bar that pays homage to the traditional kakubashira 角柱 pillars prevalent in ancient Japanese architecture.
With a simple yet timeless design that can be engraved with kanji of your choice, the HASHIRA complements any sort of outfit and can be worn for any occasion.
Necklace Attachment
Please note that as of January 4, 2022, the PU leather necklace variant of the Hashira will come with a pre-affixed metal chain along with the leather necklace on the side. In order to swap between the two necklace types, please keep in mind that attaching a simple pendant bail to the top of the Hashira once you have received it will be necessary.
The hole for a chain or bail is about 2mm across and located approximately 5mm from the top of the necklace.
We are currently trying to source a bail which can be added to the design of the pendant without negatively affecting the aesthetic sense of the piece, but until we do, we strongly recommend that you order the metal chain variant should you wish to avoid this extra step.
This recommendation is only for the PU leather option - feel free to disregard this if you ordered a Hashira with the standard metal chain.
Custom Engraving

Safety
As the smith does not mix chromium into the metal, your HASHIRA pendant should be kept away from water. We have applied a layer of lacquer to give the pendant a measure of water resistance, but it is always better to be safe than sorry! As this layer will eventually wear off over the course of normal wear, it is highly recommended to replace it with a jewelry sealant (or an alternative) in a month or so to protect the finishing of the pendant and maintain its water resistance.
Stainless Option
Due to popular demand, we now offer a stainless clad variant of our HASHIRA pendant! The metals used in the forging of this piece are of a lower carbon content with a limited chromium mix in order to provide greatly increased resistance to water based corrosion. Please note that this metal is not fully stainless, and thus should not be left exposed to water for extended periods of time.
